Birthday!

Saturday was my birthday and a wonderful day it was. Friday, Ron told me that he wanted to get me something but was not sure of the specifics and that tomorrow we could go and pick it out. I suckered him into telling me what it was.... a dress form! I was looking for one at tag sales and flea markets all summer. On our way down to the fabric store, I was admiring the beautiful fall day and checking out all the tag sales we passed by to see if any were worthy of our stopping...and what do I see at one of them? This little lady on the lawn, for sale...

We quickly turned around and packed her into our car. Here she is modeling my own creation.. mini dress/tank top tunic (I do love layering). I thought that I would take the opportunity to show you what else I have made over the past few weeks.

Sick but Still Movin'

Head cold, coughing, soar throat, yuck, yuck, yuck!!! That is the sate our our house this past week. I know we are sick when dishes pile up, there are tissues everywhere and the cat is like, "what the fuck is going on around here?"
So yeah, that is the sad sate of our homestead and not to mention the fact that both of us are students and have to keep going, (I had to facilitate an opening class last night from 5 to 10pm) I am beat.
The good news is my sister and I are applying to be in this craft fair. She has my camera to take photos of our loot, so no pictures of our sick household, not that you'd want to see it anyway.

It's That Time of Year Again

The air is crisp in the morning but the sun it still warm, the trees have a slight yellow hue to them, that means harvest season is just around the corner and I love it. I also can't help but eat in season, I crave hearty foods like sweet potatoes and squash...yum, yum. And, even though things may be going not so great around here, I still get great satisfaction that I live in such a beautiful part of the world.

How It Really Is

Does this photo show how absolutely exhausted I really am? Like Amisha I think I am experiencing a bit of insomnia. I am at a point where I feel a little lost, school is overwhelming, encouraging one day, and then defeating the next, I don't have a job... and some more whining here, and a little more there. I am not sure how to remedy this, but taking pitiful self portraits in my bathroom at 11:45pm may do the trick.

School

Tomorrow is my first day of school for the year, and Ron's too. I always get nervous and feel the same uneasy and excited that I did the night before my first day of kindergarten, no really I remember very clearly my feelings of that day, and of course what I wore. But seriously, even though it is my second year in grad school and I know the campus, the people etc, etc, I still get all weirded out.
Anyhow, I hope all you readers had a good long weekend, I hope to not be scarce around here, I do have some finished projects I need to post. Later though, when I am not tired.
